As anyone familiar with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will know, a key component of Slytherin's plan was to hide a massive basilisk in the chamber, and it seems that same basilisk can be seen in the Hogwarts Legacy video game. Not only can players visit the bathroom that leads to the Chamber of Secrets entrance, but there are also quests about Salazar Slytherin that provide some insight into his plans for the chamber. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets especially gets attention in Hogwarts Legacy. However, that doesn't mean that the game is without direct references and nods to the books and movies.
Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the late 1800s, about 100 years before the events of the Harry Potter series. Hogwarts Legacy seemingly lets Slytherin students get a glimpse of the basilisk from the Chamber of Secrets book and movie.
